Manifestation: How to create what you really need in life.

Life seems to be just one thing after another. It’s all process and not product. There is no destination but the purpose of life is in the joyful execution of it, being awake and creatively conscious of one’s aliveness moment by moment. To knowingly unify with that deep quality is the reason for yoga.

But as we arrive at the next decade of the 21st Century this insight of life is under considerable threat. There are forces that don’t want you to feel your aliveness. Because that would mean you feel and can’t be manipulated. Ask yourself this-  are you creating your life for you as you want it or is your life being created for you by others for their use? It’s here where I think most of our environmental, emotional and mental problems now reside. It’s not been going well for sometime:

Where does change come from?

We need to start with some idea of who and where we are. The old Newtonian mechanical, gravity powered description of the universe is still helpful to us. It’s what enables us to create the International Space Station or send robots to Mars.  But modern scientists say that the universe is far more subtle and complex and that human beings as one of its inhabitants are tangled up in the whole thing. 

It seems the universe at its surface is made of things but at its deepest level is an ever changing field of potential , while atoms are fields of probability which can appear in more than one place and are non-locally connected to other atoms on the other side of the universe. 

With practice yoga will put us in touch with this flowing unified field of potential because, like the rest of the universe, it’s what you are made of. This force of change and creativity is flowing through you right now. With practice you learn to not only see it but use it,  get with it, and flow allowing you to manifest what you really need in life.

How does it work?

The first thing is trust the process and let go. No amount of wanting or desire will deliver what you really need. There are so-called self-help schemes that tell you that to become rich and famous is all a matter of mindset. Well, yes and no. Wanting to be rich is the primary obstacle to creating the right mindset in the first place. It will never work.

The right mindset is intention. This is why sankeplas work in yoga practice. At beanddo we have an intention that we use a great deal. It goes something like like this:

I am here

I am exactly where I am supposed to be

I am doing exactly what I am supposed to be doing

I am exactly who I am supposed to be

In this moment there is nowhere else to go, nobody else to be and nothing else to do. 

I am here

This is a real intention setting – not wishing but knowing. Because to manifest in life you have to pay attention and be truly present to what is. In your thoughts, actions and words you have to be an open portal through which potential flows into the world. This is the science of Being and Doing and when you learn to engage and explore it through Modern Meditation you change the world from the inside-out – in short you manifest the universe just for you.

There is genius in you.

Now don’t get confused here. This has nothing to do with mastery over events, intellectual power, arrogance and ego. All of these aspects of self-identity and of you wanting have to be gotten rid of. Only then can you create what you and the world needs. 

When you learn to manifest this way you open to the creative moment that underpins everything. But the key is to be simple, spontaneous and open knowing that you can’t truly create anything on your own. Manifestation is an act of ‘inspiration’ coupled with intention, knowing that whatever you do if it’s done with an open heart will have its own momentum. 

Lastly here is the quote my very first yoga teacher read out in class way back in the 1980’s:

“Until there is commitment, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of  initiative and creation, there is one elementary truth,  the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: the moment one definitely commits oneself, then providence moves too.  all sorts of things a car to help one that would never otherwise have occurred.  A whole stream of events issue from the decision, raising in one’s favour, all manner of unforeseen incidents and meeting and material assistance with which no man could have dreamt would have come his way. Whatever you can do or dream you can, begin it.  Boldness has genius, power and magic in it. Begin it now!”Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

So there you are. All you need to do to manifest, to be your own inner architect for change is orientate yourself into a space of pure consciousness. Modern Meditation will help you do that. You might be supposed to know what you make. One thing is for sure. You don’t need to try too hard. 

You can make your own life just how you want it. 

You might not know it but you are a creative, genius architect.
